Brandon Ingram, Kinston top N. Rowan for NC 2A state title
Posted Mar 16, 2014
Brandon Ingram started off slowly in the N.C. 2A state championship Saturday at N.C. State’s Reynolds Coliseum. But the 6-foot-7 junior from Kinston High came through when his team needed it most. Ingram had five points and three rebounds at halftime of his team’s 67-57 win over North Rowan. In the second half, Ingram showed why ESPN ranks him No. 15 overall among juniors and No. 1 in North Carolina. Ingram, named championship game MVP, had 23 points and 13 rebounds in the final 16 minutes.
