Joel Berry leads Lake Highland to back-to-back 4A state titles

Joel Berry II spent most of his senior season unselfishly deferring to open teammates as defenses collapsed around him. But with his top-ranked Lake Highland Prep team down by nine and struggling to make a shot from anywhere, the McDonald's All-America guard kept the ball and took matters into his own hands in Wednesday's Class 4A state championship game. Berry's personal 11-0 second-quarter run propelled the Highlanders (28-4) into the lead and on its way to a hard-fought 58-53 victory against Jacksonville Ribault (26-4).
