Three to know: Maryland at North Carolina

North Carolina won its 1,000th game against Maryland and suffered its first loss in the Smith Center when Terrapins star Len Bias scored 35 points in an overtime epic in 1986. Maryland beat the struggling 2001-02 UNC team 112-79 as UNC allowed the most points in school history for a regulation game. But Maryland has lost to UNC more than it’s lost to any other team, falling to the Tar Heels 121 times.
