In the days and weeks after the fire, the Carignans learned the depth of the compassion their family and friends possess. Parents of Andrew's teammates have donated North Carolina gear to replace what was lost. They called out to Omaha to get extra copies of the newspapers the Carignans had saved from last year's College World Series.
