JUCO shortstop Elijah Sutherland signs with UNC baseball


Coming off a season in which he started 54 games and helped guide the Senators to their sixth JUCO World Series appearance, Walters State sophomore shortstop Elijah Sutherland signed with North Carolina on Thursday to play the 2014-15 season.Sutherland, a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School in Kingsport, Tenn., becomes the third player from Walters State to sign with the Tar Heels.
