UConn transfer Rodney Purvis out 4-5 months with shoulder surgery
Posted Dec 16, 2013
UConn announced Monday that redshirt sophomore transfer Rodney Purvis will have shoulder surgery that will require four to five months of rehab. Purvis played last season at N.C. State and averaged 8.3 points and 2.4 rebounds in 25.5 minutes. The surgery on Purvis' torn labrum will allow him to fully recover from a lingering issue "as well as tighten up muscles to stabilize a condition that has bothered Purvis since high school," according to a UConn release.
