Shalane Flanagan Leads Carolina Contigent At USA Track And Field Championships

Former North Carolina standout Shalane Flanagan won the women's 5,000-meter run to highlight action at the USA Track and Field Championships last week at IUPUI's Carroll Track & Soccer Stadium. Flanagan dominated the field with a time of 14 minutes, 51.75 seconds, more than 16 seconds better than the runner-up. Former Tar Heel Erin Donohue was also a medalist, taking third in the 1,500 in 4:08.22.
