Rebounding has been UNC's calling card in previous seasons, although last season was a break from the usual. Instead, ballhawking and defensive pressure became more of a strength as the Tar Heels led the ACC in turnover percentage — forcing opponents into turnovers on 22% of their possessions. Rebounding figures to again be a strength after the Tar Heels ranked 14th nationally.
