Virginia Tech football coach Frank Beamer has been blunt this week in his characterization of last year’s 48-34 road loss at North Carolina, calling it a “pounding” and a “hammer job.” “I think I’m describing it pretty accurately,” Beamer said. “I was there, and that’s what I felt over on our sideline. It was a team that was really ready to play, played a great game against us. We had a rough outing.” (Richmond Times-Dispatch)
