"Second Time Around" Has Rewarded Bucks Repeatedly

David Noel, a high school football star, opted to play basketball at the University of North Carolina. He was a key reserve for the Tar Heels’ 2004-05 national championship team, then stepped into a more prominent role as a senior starter, averaging 12.9 ppg. NFL scouts showed interest in him once his four years at UNC were finished, but he chose to stay with hoops, and his perseverance was rewarded by the Bucks on draft day. He saw action in 68 games as a rookie, averaging 2.7 ppg.
