UNC alum Susan Murphy wins MacArthur Foundation genius grant

A University of Michigan statistician has won a $625,000 "genius grant" from the Chicago-based John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. Susan Murphy, 55, is one of 24 individuals to win a genius grant this year. (MLive.com)
