Jim Beatty, History Featured In Oxford American

Tar Heel legend Jim Beatty, the first man to ever run a sub-four minute indoor mile in 1962, is featured in a new online video series, SoLit: Southern Literature in Motion from Oxford American. Beatty is featured in the first episode stimulated by Wendy Brenner's lyrical essay "Telegram" and the discovery of a twenty-six-foot telegram that contains over 1,200 signatures of Beatty's fans.
