Malik Newman deflects hype, focuses on improving
Posted Sep 25, 2013
Malik Newman is the nation’s top-ranked basketball player in the class of 2015 and has offers from Kentucky, Kansas, Duke, North Carolina and multiple other powerhouse programs. But he’d rather focus on working out every day to get better. Newman’s father, Horatio Webster, even had to tell him recently to cut back on his four workouts a day. Newman won’t be attending any school’s Midnight Madness in October. The 6-foot-3 shooting guard, though, will be working hard in the gym to keep his championship streak alive.
