Former UNC student dies in Navy Yard shooting

A former UNC student from the 1980s was among the 12 employees of the Washington Navy Yard who were shot and killed on Monday. Mary DeLorenzo Knight, 51, was shot to death by Aaron Alexis, who fired multiple rounds at law enforcement officers before he was shot to death by officers. Knight’s name was released Tuesday by the Metropolitan Police Department of Washington, D.C.
