Roy Williams to visit James Blackmon, Jr. on Friday
Posted Sep 10, 2013
Roy Williams will visit 2014 shooting guard James Blackmon, Jr. on Friday, according to 247 Sports and Scout.com. Blackmon (6'3", 175, Marion, Indiana) is one of 4 shooting guards in UNC's 2014 basketball recruiting class being targeted by North Carolina to fill the final slot in the class.
Fellow shooting guard Robert Johnson visited UNC over the weekend, Rashad Vaughn is scheduled to visit Chapel Hill on September 27, and Dante Exum rounds out the group. The final scholarship slot will go to whoever commits first from among the four.
Blackmon is rated as a 4-star prospect by Scout, 247, and ESPN, while Rivals rates him a 5-star recruit. He is regarded as a pure shooter, which is exactly what UNC needs to round out its 2014 class.
Blackmon initially committed to home-state school Indiana but has since decommitted. He is still considering the Hoosiers along with Kentucky, Lousville, North Carolina, Michigan, Michigan State, and Florida State.
