Darius Lipford waited a long time for a day like Saturday. It was the day after Christmas 2011 when he tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in the Independence Bowl. Seven months later, he would suffer a setback that would force him to miss the 2012 season. From the time of the original injury until Saturday, Lipford’s first game back at Kenan Stadium, 621 days had passed.
