Flashy uniforms part of college football's new recipe for success

A week ago, North Carolina took the field in its season opener wearing uniforms featuring the school's trademark powder blue and black. And there's plenty more black to come as the Tar Heels will unveil what they're calling their "Tar Pit Series" of uniforms over the course of this season. When Miami visits Oct. 17, it will be dubbed "Zero Dark Thursday" as North Carolina will debut an all-black uniform.
