2005 Tar Heels faced plenty of tests

The 2004-05 North Carolina Tar Heels started the season 0-1. They had been on the cover of several national magazines in the preseason, and there was a hint that they were buying into their hype. On the way to Hawaii for the early season Maui Classic, they stopped for a tuneup at Santa Clara. The Broncos, however, had tuned out the hype. They smacked the fourth-ranked Tar Heels 77-66, leading by as many as 19 points in the second half. (Rivals.com)
