Roy Williams offers 2016 wing Jayson Tatum
Posted Jul 31, 2013
Jayson Tatum, a 5-star 2016 guard-forward combo from St. Louis, Mo., has received a scholarship offer from Roy Williams, according to Inside Carolina. Tatum's offer becomes the fifth extended by UNC in the past three days. On Monday, an offer went out to 2014 shooting guard Robert Johnson. Tuesday saw three more offers extended to 2015 recruits P.J. Dozier (PG), Brandon Ingram (SF), and Luke Kennard (SG).
Tatum (6'7", 185) is the second member of UNC's 2016 basketball recruiting class to receive an offer, joining power forward Harry Giles who will miss the upcoming season while recovering from knee surgery. Tatum also holds offers from Kentucky, Michigan State, Indiana, and his home-state school Missouri.
A recent article in the Kansas City Star gives a more detailed look (from a Missouri perspective) at how Tatum's recruitment is unfolding at this early stage.
