Fuquay-Varina's Brett Daniels commits to UNC Baseball

Three days removed from a 4-A state championship appearance, Fuquay-Varina pitcher Brett Daniels committed to playing baseball at the University of North Carolina on Tuesday. Daniels, a rising senior, had a historic 2012-2013 season for the Bengals. On the mound, Daniels was 12-1 in starts, breaking the Fuquay-Varina single-season record for wins. At the plate, Daniels was one of the Bengals' most deadly hitters this past season. Batting .432, he recorded 43 hits, 23 runs and 4 home runs. He also had 47 RBIs, breaking Fuquay-Varina's single-season RBI record.
