UNC Downs Charlotte, 10-2, For 40th Win


No. 1 North Carolina became the first team in the country to reach 40 wins on Wednesday as the Tar Heels claimed a 10-2 win over visiting Charlotte. Freshman Reilly Hovis earned his first collegiate win as he allowed one run on three hits over five innings of work. Hovis struck out a career-high five batters in the longest outing of his short career. (GoHeels.com)
