Early in Kansas' 1990-91 season, starting point guard Adonis Jordan was 30 seconds late for a team bus leaving for Oklahoma State, so Roy Williams left him. The Jayhawks lost the game, beginning Big Eight Conference play 0-2, "and there were some people saying, 'Why did he do that?' "Roy always believed that you have to be consistent and treat everybody the same in terms of enforcing rules.
