P.J. Hairston scored 22, Reggie Bullock had 19 points and 12 rebounds, and North Carolina coasted past Maryland 79-68 Wednesday for its sixth straight victory. The Tar Heels never trailed after closing the first half with a 10-0 run that made it 34-27. UNC solidified its hold on third place in the ACC and can move into a tie for second by beating Duke in the season finale Saturday night.
