For UNC coach Roy Williams, cancer scare alters perspective

At the first team meeting before his first surgery, Roy Williams told his players that if he needed a second surgery, he might miss several practices at the start of the season. He vowed, though, to return regardless of his diagnoses. Williams informed his players that he was cancer free after they had endured conditioning tests last week. (Raleigh News & Observer)
