Brendan Haywood’s love of basketball shines through

Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle said waiving Brendan Haywood had little to do with his ability and a lot to do with his $11 million-plus salary. Carlisle calls Haywood one of the best teammates in the league. Others – former Washington Wizards interim coach Ed Tapscott and ex-Wizards and Tar Heels teammate Antawn Jamison – say Haywood’s basketball intellect is off the charts.
