Why is North Carolina playing Idaho? Originally, the Tar Heels were scheduled to take on Tennessee today. But when the Volunteers decided to dumb down their schedule two years go, they opted to buy out of the game for the hefty sum of $750,000. That money ended up paying for Idaho to travel cross country to play in Chapel Hill when UNC couldn’t find anyone else to fill the unexpected hole on its slate. (Wilmington Star News)
