Hard work paying off late in games for Tar Heels

When the UNC players first met with Lou Hernandez in the offseason, the Tar Heels’ new strength and conditioning coach promised two things. No. 1, they would experience a lot of pain and discomfort. No. 2, when they left the weight room, nobody would be able to outwork them on the field. “If they can’t make it through me, then they’re not going to make it on a Saturday,” Hernandez said. “We get stronger as the day gets longer.”
