UNC excelling in the second half: Inside the story

One theory that attempts to explain UNC’s second-half success is that its conditioning program – built to make the Heels withstand the rigors of their up-tempo pace of play on offense – has had a trickle-down effect. UNC’s offense hasn’t worn down in the second half of any game. And the defense, which goes against that offense every day in practice, has appeared stronger in the second half, too.
