Former Tar Heel Matt Harvey had an electric debut for the Mets, striking out 11, giving up only three hits and hitting a single and a double. He set the franchise record for strikeouts in a debut, and he’s the first pitcher since 1900 to get two hits and strike out more than 10 in his first game.
