European 'vacation' just what doctor ordered for Tar Heel women

After an early end to last season, North Carolina’s women’s basketball team is getting an early jump on erasing that bad memory. The Tar Heels failed to make the NCAA Tournament last March for the first time since 2001. Beginning practice this month, in advance of the team’s trip to Europe for exhibition games next week, allows them to begin easing that bitterness.
