Beware of the 'D'

Saturday, October 13, 2007

If North Carolina wants to author a surprise of its own today at Kenan Stadium, it will have to do so by outplaying the Gamecocks' defense. In South Carolina's 38-23 win over then-No. 8 Kentucky last week, its defense scored two of the team's five touchdowns. Defensive end Eric Norwood returned fumbles of 2 and 53 yards for both defensive scores. (Raleigh News & Observer)
