Andrew Carignan headed for Tommy John surgery

A's right-handed reliever Andrew Carignan landed on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday with a sprained ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow, and he's headed for Tommy John surgery. Carignan confirmed manager Bob Melvin's worst fears after the A's 2-0 victory over the Texas Rangers. "See you next year," Carignan told reporters. (MLB.com)
