Hobbs Johnson gets nod for Heels’ NCAA opener

Hobbs Johnson will get the ball Friday at 6 p.m. against Cornell at Boshamer Stadium, while Kent Emanuel will start Saturday and Benton Moss will pitch Sunday in the double-elimination Chapel Hill Regional, which also features East Carolina and St. John’s. The deep rotation is a big reason why UNC (44-14), which is the No. 6 national seed, is third in the country with a 2.54 ERA.
