North Carolina: Talks didn't violate NCAA regulations

North Carolina athletics officials say its NCAA compliance department has determined that the school did not violate any NCAA regulations when former players talked to basketball prospects in September. The school's compliance office decided no violations occurred in part because the conversations were "brief and not recruiting in nature," school spokesman Steve Kirschner said.
