Marcus Paige's season ends in state semifinals

There’s no road map for knocking off the defending champions and the state’s best player. But shooting 80 percent from the field over one brilliant half of basketball isn’t a bad place to start. Iowa City West accomplished that Friday against Linn-Mar, rushing to a 71-51 victory in a Class 4-A semifinal. Star guard , bound for North Carolina, said he’d never witnessed such a blitz. “That’s the only time I ever remember playing in a game like that,” he said after scoring a team-high 24 points.
