Andrew Carignan aims to make A’s roster out of spring training


Oakland’s closer last season, Andrew Bailey, was traded to Boston as a potential replacement for Jonathan Papelbon. That leaves the Athletics with a host of players vying for the spot, including seasoned veterans Brian Fuentes and Grant Balfour. Carignan could be included in that list. “It’s obviously an opportunity,” Carignan said Friday. (Norwich Bulletin)
