Tar Heels-Wolfpack rivalry makes less noise on the field than it does off
Posted Nov 8, 2007
N.C. State and North Carolina. In the grand scheme of college football rivalries, this yearly matchup lacks a little something. Born out of location, not deep-seeded hatred, the Tar Heels vs. the Wolfpack does not have that intrinsic "wow" factor to it. Heck, the winner of N.C. State-North Carolina won't even receive a trophy. At least the "other" rivalry game in the state, Western Carolina vs. Appalachian State, will reward an Ol' Mountain Jug.
