Wayne Ellington knew about the preseason criticism of North Carolina’s perimeter shooting, but he never let it bother him. Instead, the sophomore scored a career-high 20 points in the Tar Heels’ season-opening victory over Davidson. The Tar Heels needed a 16-9 run in the final 6:05 to put away a scrappy, veteran Davidson squad. (Inside Carolina)
