As the 3-pointer left his hand with about two minutes left Sunday night, North Carolina freshman P.J. Hairston closed his eyes. “I thought, ‘OK, that’s good,’ and I heard everybody cheering,’’ he said. “And then I hurried and ran back to get on defense. “Yeah, there was a sense of relief.” Not just for the reserve guard, but for the Tar Heels (3-0), as well.
