Andrew Carter's analysis of the Heels' win

UNC did what good teams do against overmatched competition. It built a double-digit first-half lead and then pulled away throughout the second half to finish with a lopsided victory. The Tar Heels held Mississippi Valley State to 38.2 percent shooting, and UNC shot 49 percent in the second half, when it scored 60 points and eclipsed the 100-point mark without about a minute to play.
