Pack, Heels benefit from recruiting change of hearts

Joseph Jackson from First Coast High in Jacksonville, Fla., first committed to play for West Virginia in March. But the 6-1, 210-pound linebacker backed off that decision in early November after visiting UNC. Jackson wound up committing to the Tar Heels on Nov. 7 over an extensive offer list. Sanderson High in Raleigh has one of the state's fastest rising prospects in defensive end Desmond Owino. N.C. State has taken the early lead in Owino's recruitment, but he's also received scholarship offers from Duke, Maryland, UNC and Wake Forest.
