University Day: UNC Turns 218


Hundreds of faculty, staff, students and alumni gathered in UNC’s Memorial Hall Wednesday to celebrate University Day.“Today is a day to be proud,” says UNC System President Tom Ross. “Today is a great day to be a Tar Heel.” He and many others gathered as UNC turned 218 years old, marking the anniversary of the laying of the cornerstone of Old East back on October 12, 1793.
