If playing on the road can toughen a basketball team, then top-ranked Carolina should be a stout bunch for the start of Atlantic Coast Conference play. By the time UNC returns home to play Nicholls State on Dec. 19, the Tar Heels will have not played a home game for nearly a month. Carolina defeated South Carolina State 110-64 on Nov. 20 in the Tar Heels' last game at the Smith Center.
