Leslie McDonald scheduled for knee surgery on Thursday

Bill Arey walked into Alston Bridges Barbecue and saw someone he knew all to well. The 44-year-old lifelong Shelby resident came across the North Carolina men’s basketball coach, Roy Williams, and his wife, Wanda, when he stopped into the restaurant around 2:30 p.m. on Monday. The coach said McDonald was to have surgery on his right knee on Thursday.
