Tar Heels trying to be 11-0 at Christmas

This could be one of the most important days of the season for North Carolina, if past form holds. It will play its last game before Christmas when it faces Cal-Santa Barbara at the Smith Center at 1 p.m. A win will keep North Carolina unbeaten, but might also signal later success in March, during tournament play. The last three North Carolina teams to go unbeaten before Christmas reached the Final Four in 1993, 1995 and 1998. (Winston-Salem Journal)
