Tar Heels (finally) win on field, but lose shot at ACC title
Posted May 29, 2011
Though UNC was on the field at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park at 1 in the morning, 5 in the afternoon and again at 11 p.m., it was when the team was hanging out back on campus that its ACC Tournament fate was determined. The Tar Heels concluded a 9-0 win over Wake Forest in the afternoon, but Miami's win later in the day against the Demon Deacons ensured that Virginia would advance out of UNC's pool.
