Greg Holt battles but falls short

Greg Holt did just about everything for North Carolina. He just couldn't get that third out when he needed it. A reliever asked to make his first start in more than a year in UNC's opening game of the ACC tournament, Holt gave the Tar Heels five good innings Thursday. He hit for himself and drove in two runs. And he had two outs in the sixth before it all fell apart, for Holt and for the Tar Heels. (Raleigh News & Observer)
