Tudor: Woody Durham could have been a TV sports star

Woody Durham was a hit on television, too. It's not widely remembered, but Durham gradually walked away from the sports anchor job at Greensboro's WFMY-TV to take over play-by-play chores on the UNC Radio Network in the 1970s. Not only was television seen as a force that would overwhelm and eventually bury radio, Woody left the industry to follow an entertainment celebrity, Bill Currie, behind the Tar Heels' microphone.
