Former UNC signee Delvon Simmons signs with Texas Tech

In early March, Delvon Simmons — one of the nation's top defensive tackles in the class of 2011 — requested his release from the letter of intent he signed with North Carolina in February. When North Carolina defensive line coach Brian Baker left for the NFL, it changed how Simmons looked at the program. Tar Heels coach soon granted the McKeesport (Pa.) native his release, and Simmons restarted the recruiting process and this week signed a letter of intent with Texas Tech. (Sporting News)
