Football recruiting wars about to get back underway

Two weeks ago, South Columbus running back Rontonio Stanley recorded the fastest electronic time – 4.53 seconds in the 40-yard dash – on a track at an ESPN Rise Nike combine in Charlotte. Several coaches and a recruiting analyst tell me Stanley’s combine time translates to a 4.4 or less on grass. Duke, North Carolina and N.C. State have expressed interest in Stanley as an athlete, with an eye toward defensive back.
